is a forum for conversations amongst activists and academics on issues relating to science and democracy.
During a recent review an interesting fact came up during theprocess and discussion. While it was acknowledged that indeed many interesting things relating toscience and technology have been occurring in civil society. At the department of Science &Technology (DST) there is a programme called ‘Science and Society’ which is an omnibuscategory through which several NGOs across the country have received small grants for projectsrelating to science and technology. The budget allocation is a miniscule part of the total budget ofDST.
