Let's try understand CLIMATE CHANGE
CLIMATE CHANGE is NOT about day to day weather
It is about
CHANGES IN THE AVERAGE GLOBAL WEATHER
ie. increase in average long term temperature & it's consequences
There is a long term disturbance in the balance between heat and cold in the earth’s atmosphere

This has resulted in extreme weather events, Like
• heavy rainfall for a few days like 26/7
• drought for longer periods
• more extreme temperatures
It is not that we only have to bear with the extra heat..& rain everything gets affected

& Our Health

& the coasts..

The Original Design

Green House Gases
CO2, CH4, N2O etc
• Allow the short-wave energy to reach the Earth's surface
• Trap the longer-wave (heat radiating) energy in the atmosphere.
Without GHGs, the earth would have been 30 degrees colder.
After industrial revolution,
• carbon dioxide has risen nearly 30%,
• methane more than doubled, and
• nitrous oxide has risen by about 15%.
CO2
1850 pre-industrial level- 270 ppm
current level:384 ppm
2100: at current rate - 600-700 ppm
Magic Numbers
it was 350 ppm - 1990 the maximum we can afford is..
450 ppm in 2050

Human-caused carbon emissions
• Deforestation accounts for 20%
• Fossil Fuel – 80%
petroleum, coal and natural gas
– industrial production,
– transportation
– heating and cooling offices
– heating and cooling homes
Other GHGs
Nitrous oxide : largely produced by vehicle and industrial emissions.
Agriculture – fertilizer
Methane: 21 times more harmful than CO2: Coal Mining- 10% of human induced methan emissions Waste, Cattle
Was it God's will?.

It's the path of development which is dependent on
burning fossil fuels..
